About Hillary

Hillary Murtha has a Ph.D and an M.A. in history from the University of Delaware, with a concentration in material culture. She also holds an M.A. in the history of decorative arts from the Bard Graduate Center, and a B.A. in art from Rutgers University. She has worked as a museum curator and a college-level instructor, and currently edits the blog the Meanings of Things (www.themeaningsofthings.org/wordpress) which is devoted to discussions of material culture, museum objects and American history.
